Staff Training

Staff policy major area in JV “UGHK” LLP (Joint Venture “South Mining and Chemical Company” Limited Liability Partnership) is the professional and social development of its staff, which is able to competently solve strategical and tactical tasks of the Partnership.

The Partnership aims at the highly professional staff, therefore our major task is to develop human resources. In this regard, the best labour conditions and available individual and collective improvement are among top priorities in the staff policy of JV “UGHK” LLP.

In order to maintain the employees’ qualification level, and their further development, training is provided both in Astana and Almaty training centres, and in Russian universities and training centres of Obninsk, Tomsk, Moscow, Saint Petersburg. Employees here pass advanced training courses, do MBA programs and attend the second profile qualification retraining courses. Main retraining areas include “Uranium In-Situ Leaching Technology” of Tomsk Polytechnical University, “Radiation Safety and Radioecology” and “Uranium Production Safety” based on “Kazakhstan Nuclear University” LLP.

 In addition, the Partnership experts regularly participate in foreign internships arranged by “Kazakhstan Nuclear University” LLP in high-tech uranium mines of Australia, Canada and others, which both facilitates the personal development and motivation, and allows to apply the best international practice at their own production sites.

Mandatory training in labour safety, industrial safety and sanitary is on-job in mines “Akdala” and “South Inkai”, which have special training classrooms provided.

While supporting the mediation institute in Kazakhstan, around 20 negotiators and mediators annually complete training, which allows to maintain social stability, minimize staff conflicts and maintain the good staff morale, which is important for the rotating schedule.

1,125 people upgraded their skills for 12 months in 2015. Partnership’s actual training and advanced training costs  for that period made up 69,763 thsd. tenge.

In 2016, the Partnership continues its work on staff development. The amount equal to 102,000 thsd. tenge is planned for staff training and advanced training.
